2020-2021 Kindergarten Registration

ATTENTION

Currently, the Central Registration Office is closed to the public. Two bins are available outside the office with Registration Packets, Integrated Preschool Applications, Change of Address Forms and Affidavits, if needed.
 
We are accepting these materials in our dropbox through the mail slot on our door as well as electronically via centralregistration@ewrsd.k12.nj.us or via Fax: 609-443-7855.
 
If you drop materials off, please provide copies.  If originals are dropped off, they will be copied and the originals will be mailed to the home.  Please call the below number to alert us that materials were dropped off.

If so, it is time to register for East Windsor Regional School District's full-day kindergarten!

Registration for students entering kindergarten in September 2020 will take place by APPOINTMENT ONLY.

If applicable, a language test will be conducted by appointment on a later date.

Students MUST live in the district with the parent or legal guardian. ONLY the parent or legal guardian may register the student.  All registrations are done by appointment.

As part of the entrance process, all students entering Kindergarten must participate in a screening assessment. An appointment for this assessment will be scheduled with you when you register your child. All assessments will be held at Central Administration, 25A Leshin Lane, Hightstown, NJ 08520. For the 2020-2021 school year, you may select an available appointment during our scheduled administrations.
 
  • July 21, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • July 22, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • July 23, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • August 5, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • August 6, 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
 
For those families registering after the first week of August, scheduled administrations will take place:
 
  • August 20, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • August 28, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
 

The following documents are examples of acceptable items that must be presented at the registration appointment:

COMPLETED REGISTRATION PACKET

HOMEOWNERS:

  1. Current property tax bill, mortgage statement or closing disclosure (if the home was recently bought)

  2. One (1) document with name and address such as voter registration, license, permit, financial account information, utility bill, delivery receipt, court order, canceled check, etc.

RENTERS:

  1. Current lease or letter from leasing agent.

  2. One (1) document with name and address such as voter registration, license, permit, financial account information, utility bill, delivery receipt, court order, canceled check, etc.

IF YOU LIVE WITH ANOTHER FAMILY:

  1. Affidavit of Residency Form A. (This needs to be notarized and completed by the person with whom you reside with)

  2. Current lease or letter from leasing agent, landlord or tenant, property tax bill, mortgage statement or closing disclosure of the homeowner (if home was recently bought) This should be the same person listed on the Affidavit of Residency Form A.

  3. One (1) document with name and address such as voter registration, license, permit, financial account information, utility bill, delivery receipt, court order, canceled check, etc.

Note:  If your current living arrangements are NOT listed above, please call the office for guidance.

The following additional documents are required for school enrollment and should be presented at the registration appointment. Failure to present these documents may delay actual attendance at school.

  1. Proof of Age. Original birth certificate, passport, or other official document indicating age.

  2. Immunization Records. Current records can be obtained from your pediatrician. These must be current with dates and translated into English. Students registering without an immunization record must provide this documentation to the school nurse prior to the start of school.

  3. Physical, Dental Examinations. Although Physical and Dental Examinations are NOT  required at the time of registration, they are required within 30 days of school entrance by the  NJ Department of Education and the EWRSD. Please note that current physical examination forms for new Kindergarten students must be sent to the school nurse on or before June 19, 2020. Students with summer birthdays are due on or before August 31, 2020. Please note that physical examinations must be conducted no more than one year (365 days) prior to entry into EWRSD schools.

  4. First Grade Testing. To be eligible for First Grade testing, your child must currently be enrolled in an accredited Kindergarten program. A letter from the school stating your child is currently attending an accredited Kindergarten program is required at the time of registration. Testing for First Grade will take place at a later date.

  5. Proof of Custody, if applicable.  Legal divorce decree, or other custody document indicating physical or residential custody of the student.
