Good Evening. I'm Robert Dias your child's elementary school principal and welcome to the Perry L. Drew School's back to school night. Tonight, your child's teacher will be going over a number of things that you could find in the Perry L. Drew School's handbook which is available online. As we go through this video, we will be sharing some important information with you that will be helpful to your success and your child's success throughout the school year. We really appreciate you coming tonight and we look forward to having a successful and wonderful school year. Please stay tuned for the rest of this video and see more information about the magic that will be happening at the Perry L. Drew School this year. As mentioned many of the items that will be covered tonight can be found in the district handbook which is available online. You can also find the school information as well on the district website. We do send out District email blasts periodically so please make sure your email and phone numbers are up to date. At the Perry L. Drew school every year, we strive to be the very best. As a part of our community, we ask to support your child on a daily basis throughout the school year. Teachers will post grades periodically on the Grade Portal. Please make sure that you have an account and you are checking it frequently to see how your child is progressing. Lunch and recess are two of the most important and fun parts of your child's day. Lunch is 30 minutes and recess runs for 20. We encourage your child to play fairly and with joy. This year, we will be adding lunch and recess clubs to the schedule. Information will be sent home soon. We want safety and good socialization as well as fun during this most important part of the school day. At the Drew school, we hope to have a bully-free zone. That means every student has to do his or her part in keeping our school bully-free. Tonight your child's teacher will review the harassment, intimidation, and bullying code. After the presentation, please sign off that you have reviewed this information with your child's teacher. Please help to keep the Drew School a bully-free zone - reminding your child to stay away from bullying and reporting bullying to school Personnel right away can help in keeping everyone targeted on academic success and creating a positive school year.
