New Hire Health Benefit Information
Congratulations on your recent appointment with the East Windsor Regional School District!
Major Medical Coverage
Per PL 2020 Chapter 44, all new employees hired are required to enroll in the NJ Educators Health Plan (NJEHP) or Garden State Health Plan (GSP) that is administered by Horizon Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Please note that you will need to select a level of coverage meaning single, two adults, parent & child(ren), or family.
Prescription
The above-mentioned NJEHP plan has an assigned prescription plan. This plan is also administered by Horizon Blue Cross / Blue Shield.
Dental
The district offers two dental plans that are administered by Cigna.
Vision
The district offers a vision plan that is administered by VSP.
Health Benefit Contribution
Per PL 2020 Chapter 44, district employees are required to contribute towards their benefits. The contribution is based on a percentage of your salary and level of coverage. Your contribution for the first year (July 1st through June 30th) will be prorated as you did not have coverage for the entire year.

- The universal health benefits form is located below.
- Marriage certificate/certificate of civil union/certificate of domestic partnership.
- Copies of birth certificates for children.
Waive Benefits
You may also choose to waive your health benefit options if you have health coverage from another source. The district does not currently offer a cash payment for waiving benefits. If you choose to waive benefits you still must complete the separate waiver application for your family size and provide proof of alternative coverage.
