About Us

The Ethel McKnight Elementary School located on Twin Rivers Drive South in East Windsor is named in honor of a former teacher and administrator who served our district's students and staff for 45 years. Approximately 550 students in grades K through 2 attend our school. Our brand new school building, located on the original school site, is equipped with a full-size gymnasium, a combination cafeteria/auditorium, a state of the art Media Center, two Computer/Science Labs and most importantly, beautiful full-size classrooms. At McKnight School, instruction is focused on meeting the individual needs of each student. Our philosophy is that each student can learn and achieve success. A multitude of programs and teaching strategies including differentiated learning help students attain knowledge of the Common Core Standards. At special monthly assemblies, every student is recognized for individual growth. A most important member of our school community is our mascot, "Lightning the Mustang." Our students enjoy his regular visits and the many contributions that Lightning makes to our school.
Nicole Foulks, Principal

Nicole FoulksMy name is Nicole Foulks, and I am thrilled to serve as Building Principal of the Ethel McKnight Elementary School. Prior to becoming a Principal, I served as an Assistant Principal in West Windsor Plainsboro Regional School District and an elementary school teacher in South Brunswick School District.

I received my undergraduate from Rutgers University.  I earned my teacher certification as well as my graduate degree at Rider University.  My administrative certification was earned through the NJEXCEL program.

I am proud to be an administrator in East Windsor; especially at Ethel McKnight.  I invite you to look through our website, to learn more about our school and the district. This website is a wonderful resource for parents and community members to help stay informed of all that’s happening at our school; please visit it often for updates and news!

Additionally, I encourage you to join our PTO. The EMK PTO does a wonderful job hosting events and raising much-needed funds for our district. There is nothing more rewarding than being a part of your child’s education.

At McKnight our goal each day is to show our Mustang P.R.I.D.E. As a school community, we focus on teaching children how to be prepared, respectful, inclusive, determined and engaged.
