Closing out a semester of our yoga elective and a marking period of yoga in PE with a little time for students to explore and play with sound equipment that is used sometimes during “savasana,” the final rest pose of our yoga practice.
Some of the frequencies created by the sound equipment can trigger the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest system), helping people to relax and reduce stress and anxiety.
It was great to see our students lead with curiosity and be gracious in making time for one another to try the equipment out!
Pictured we have: two crystal sound bowls, a Tibetan sound bowl, a seed shell shaker, an ocean drum, two steel tongue drums, and a chime.
