Mr. Christopher Virag grew up in Edison, New Jersey, where he graduated from Edison High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree from Kean University. He began his career as a Physical Education teacher at GMB Middle School, where he taught for thirteen years, and also served as the Director of Athletics for Jamesburg Public Schools for ten years. In 2023, Mr. Virag completed his Master’s degree at the American College of Education to further his leadership in education.
Throughout his career, Mr. Virag has been actively involved outside the classroom, serving on the School Improvement Team and School Climate Team. He has also coached Boys Soccer and Girls Basketball in Jamesburg and spent thirteen years as an assistant varsity baseball coach at Monroe Township High School, where he oversaw the pitching staff. During that time, the Falcons earned multiple division titles, state finals appearances, and a GMC Championship in 2015.
Outside of school, Mr. Virag enjoys spending time with his wife, Jacqueline, a first-grade teacher, and their three children—Walker, Quinn, and Tatum. He also loves traveling, exercising, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
