About us

Ethel McKnight Elementary School, located on Twin Rivers Drive in East Windsor, is named in honor of a dedicated former teacher and administrator who devoted 45 years to serving our district’s students and staff. Our school serves approximately 500 students in grades K through 2. Situated on the original school site, the building features a full-size gymnasium, a combined cafeteria and auditorium, a state-of-the-art Media Center, two Computer/Science Labs, and spacious, well-equipped classrooms.

At McKnight, our instructional approach centers on meeting the unique needs of each student. We believe every child has the ability to learn and succeed. Through a variety of programs and teaching strategies, including differentiated instruction, we support students in reaching their fullest potential.

An important and beloved member of our community is our mascot, “Lightning the Mustang.” Our students look forward to Lightning’s visits and the positive energy he brings to our school.

Nicole Foulks, Principal

My name is Nicole Foulks, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Ethel McKnight Elementary School. It is a privilege to be part of a school community that is deeply committed to fostering a love of learning, supporting the whole child, and building strong partnerships with families.

At Ethel McKnight, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and academically rich environment where all students can thrive. As a Leader in Me school, we focus on empowering our students to discover their individual strengths, set goals, and become leaders of their own learning. This whole-school approach supports the development of essential life and leadership skills through the 7 Habits framework.

I invite you to explore our website to stay informed about school news, upcoming events, and valuable resources. It’s an excellent tool for staying connected and engaged with all that’s happening at McKnight.

I also encourage you to get involved with our outstanding PTO. The EMK PTO plays an important role in supporting our students and staff by organizing events and raising funds that directly benefit our school community. Being involved in your child’s educational journey is both impactful and rewarding.
