hi boys and girls it's mrs. gladkowski your school principal and today is my principal read aloud for the summer reading challenge this is my second read aloud the book that I'm going to be reading to you is we will rock our classmates and I selected this book because it's almost time to come back to school and we'll get to see all of our acne so here we go we will rock our classmates Penelope was the only T-Rex in her school sometimes that made her stand out a little and sometimes Penelope's classmates didn't see her at all they just saw a dinosaur want to play cops and dinosaurs you can be the dinosaur I was hoping to play great will be the dentist you be the dinosaur Tomatoes backpack is stuck in your teeth dinosaur are not Penelope loves to play she loved to read light tasting with all wrapped in Bologna with a single Bishop Tony ponies and she loved to draw weight I won't eat you mustard but the one thing Penelope love to do more than anything else was to make music she loves to sing she loves to play guitar Penelope love to rock and roll so when this is nudelman told the class about the school talent show Penelope she was also nervous she wanted to rob her classmates how could she do it also the sign of she was right next to Walter the Ferocious goldfish Penelope took a deep breath she had to do it she tiptoed past Walter then she quickly wrote her name with her bravest purple marker after school Penelope chairs and I'm going to wear a pink tutu and big burp and Spike my scale and look angry but I'll actually be very happy and I know it's going to be so great Sumter favorite songs while brushing her teeth she danced all the way to the bus even told her classmates about her favorite then the weevils ever my dad used to go to all their concert until he accidentally ate the drummer at last it was time for the rehearsal dinosaurs even play guitar onstage Penelope Rose she could not see she could not play guitar she worried that dinosaurs could not rock and roll Penelope was very quiet on the car ride home she hardly anything for supper are you sure you don't want more Penny Pie you only had 52 burgers the next day of recess Penelope sat alone on the bench she would not play hopscotch I'm a T-Rex not Hopscotch her she would not play duck-duck-goose I'm not a duck or another duck or Goose I'm a dinosaur at the end of the day Penelope cross your name off the sign up sheet with her status blue marker when Penelope got home she went straight to her room daddy Rex came in to talk to her is everything okay he asked I can't be in the talent show she cried I'm just a dinosaur I see said Daddy racks come with me take a look at this photo album this is your Uncle Frank he was a figure skater first marathon and here's me the world hamburger eating champion I ate 5053 hamburgers with ketchup you see said Daddy Rex T-Rex is only part of who you are you for instance are kind and caring creative an adventurous and you can be anything you want to be the next day at school Penelope marched over to the signup sheet she looks. at Walter and almost lost her nerve but Penelope's classmates had a different idea can we play with you and your band and not gave her just enough courage on the night of the show Penelope was really excited and also really nervous she peeked out from backstage to try and find her pear when the curtains open William Amado and his amazing animal sounds took the stage Mabel Hastings and her dancing Pony when stuck then there was the segment Brothers synchronized swimming lines act solved by Marina Cortez and her dad's doing card tricks finally it was Penelope's turn the lights on the stage were bright but not as bright as Penelope we are Penelope and the Mustard Seed Penelope was a T-Rex she was also kind and caring and creative and adventurous most of all Penelope Rex was a rockstar Penelope and the mustard seeds came in second place just behind me both Hastings and her dancing Pony that was okay with Penelope she loves ponies homies so I hope you enjoy this book and again if you're participating in the summer reading challenge the title is we will rock our classmates and I know that when we come back to WCVB we are going to rock our classmates right we're going to be who we are and we can be anything that we want to be when we're here at the Walter Cecil at school so I know we're going to have a great year wait to see everybody and enjoy the rest of your summer
