Updated NJDOH Isolation and Quarantine Guidance - January 2022

Dear EWRSD Community:

On January 10, 2022, the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) released updated COVID-19 isolation and quarantine timeframes for non-healthcare settings.  Both the isolation and quarantine periods have been reduced from ten (10) days to five (5) days.  Please review the attached document that contains updated recommendations for COVID-19 isolation and quarantine procedures and time frames within the EWRSD. This updated guidance will immediately take effect within our district.

Students and staff members who are currently isolating, due to testing positive for COVID-19, or quarantining, due to being a close contact, should adjust their isolation or quarantine time frames to correlate with the updated NJDOH recommendations. Please contact your school nurse with any questions about your specific situation.

Please remember to monitor for symptoms.  It is important that students and staff remain at home if they are ill.

Your continued cooperation to support the health and well-being of the EWRSD community is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Mark Daniels
Superintendent of Schools
